Dan Merritts has 20 years of innovative, industry-shaping technology experience in marketing, product management, and operations. He's helped drive the creation of several multi-billion dollar market categories, including: contextual advertising, cloud computing, textbook rentals, and enterprise mobile security.

Dan is currently consulting with B2B firms and select startups to improve end-to-end customer experiences at MCG. Previously, Dan recently led the rebranding and turnaround of Impactly (acq. Schoox) and newrow_ (acq. Kaltura). Before that, he was the CEO of F# where he led the advertising firm from inception through its hyper-growth stage achieving multi-million dollar run-rate in less than 2 years. F#'s solutions allow leading brands (e.g., Coca-Cola, P&G, Microsoft, at&t, Yum Brands, etc.) to easily integrate streaming music into high-impact, multi-screen advertising experiences. Before F#, Dan held leadership and interim roles with a number of venture-backed startups and high-growth companies with Kno (acq. Intel), Fileboard, Savision (acq. Martello) several other stealth startups with product, marketing, and sales strategy and execution.

Previously, Dan headed up product management for Zenprise's award-winning mobile security products. Zenprise was acquired by Citrix and was backed by tier-one venture capital firms: Ignition, Shasta, and Mayfield.

Dan previously helped pioneer cloud computing at Loudcloud (became Opsware; acq. by HP). He held operational leadership roles for the industry-shaping IT automation and early cloud computing company. His career began at Affinia, a Sequoia Capital backed startup, which pioneered contextual web advertising and developed a predecessor to Google's AdSense.

Dan holds an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management. At Santa Clara University, Dan was an accomplished national collegiate debater as well as a pioneering ethics fellow at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. He holds two bachelor degrees, one in Economics and another in Operations Management.

Dan is a native of Colorado, but spent most of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to New York City in 2012. He enjoys photography, extreme skiing and snowboarding, scuba diving, international travel and cooking.
